Order your mind to act like a “watch dog”
In this below description I tried to explain the purpose of meditation in a very simple way.
Meditation is not a spiritual process. It did not come from any religion. It is totally a scientific process. Any human being from any religion can follow it.
As we know for every home we have an owner. The owner of the house receives guests. Owner also takes care of each and every corner of the home. If the owner neglects weaken windows or doors then thief may enter in to home and rob. If owner allows every one into home and entertain everyone then people will damage the house. If the owner does not know how to control the people inside the house then the house value will go down. And society will blame the owner first.
In the similar way our mind is the owner of this human body. It sits in its chair and receives the ideas/thoughts/values that we get in our brain. Like an irresponsible owner if mind allows everything inside the mind then it will damage the entire body and soul and hence we will loose our value in society.
So as a responsible owner of the body mind should observe our thoughts/our life style/ideas/planes that are trying to enter in to our body. Our mind has to reject if any harmful thing is coming inside as a guest to live in our body.
If the owner of the house wander here and there instead of concentrating on who is coming inside or what is going on inside then damage will take place slowly. In the same way our mind which is an owner has to sit in silence every day and keep watching at least an hour or 2 hours on what is going on inside and who is trying to come from outside.
Discuss with thoughts and ask them why they want to enter and stay in your body and soul. If you feel any thought is destructive and harmful to your body, soul as well as for society then reject it. And if you decide that any thought is useful to your body, soul and as well as for society then kindly accept it and let it stay in your body.
In this way we can cleanse our body and mind. If we keep doing this then one day our mind will automatically rejects negative thoughts without sitting in meditation.
In simple words meditation is nothing but using your mind like a watch Dog to secure your body and soul from outside negative energies.
